A woman whose partner repeatedly falls asleep while she’s in labour has revealed the handy $7.50 item that solved her delivery room issue.
A pregnant woman has revealed the handy $7.50 item every parent-to-be should include in their hospital bag.
The mum-of-four, who about to undergo a C-section, shared a clip of herself in her hospital bed on the video-sharing platform TikTok.
But while the US woman, who posts under the username @amyal26, was anxiously awaiting the birth of her child – her husband was asleep on the couch at the foot of the bed.
Despite her pleas to wake up, he snoozed on, so she pulled out the handy item she’d bought with her.

“Baby, baby,” she can be heard repeatedly calling to no avail in the clip, before pulling out a Nerf gun.
Next she proceeded to shoot him a handful of times with the popular kids toy, finally waking her partner who promptly asked what she needed.
“This is the best $5 ($AU7.50) I ever spent and wish I would have bought one for my other C-section sections,” the woman wrote over the top of the video.
She added her nurse showed her co-workers because she thought it was awesome.
In a follow up video the woman explained that when her partner is awake he is the “most helpful human”.
“I couldn’t ask for a better human to help me through my pregnancy,” she said.
The clip - which has been viewed almost 7 million times - clearly resonated, prompting social media users to share their own experiences.
“I threw a tennis ball the nurse left for my back at my husband when I was in labour. Got him right in the ribs first try and he popped right up,” one woman commented on the clip.
Another said: “I had to call the nurse in because my husband was snoring so loud and he needed a little push to stop.”
One said: “You’re nicer than me. I threw the call bell/remote. It had a cord, so I pulled it back and threw it again.”
Another joked they would purchase the most expensive one so it would hurt their partner, while another said her husband joked he’d leave her if she did that.
The original poster said: “Mine was so down for it. He literally died laughing when we tested it out. He didn’t want me getting up for sh*t without him helping.”
Others praised the handy tip, describing it as the “best idea ever”.
